Across eight categories, there are 18 rooms: one for each of the vines that grew here before the hotel was built. The décor is soothing, with a combination of white, cream and blonde wood furnishings. There are solid pine desks, comfortable beds, in-room sinks, Nespresso machines and cool tiled floors. Old-fashioned wicker baskets have been repurposed as lampshades, or filled with fragrant bunches of fresh lavender. Bathrooms feature honey-scented Nuxe toiletries, and the walk-in showers become steam rooms at the touch of a button.

All rooms have large glass doors (fitted with mosquito screens), leading out onto furnished balconies or terraces – some with plunge pools or whirlpool baths.The open-plan Comfort rooms, with or without plunge pools, are on the small side – but thanks to clever use of space, they don’t feel cramped. The Seaview Superior rooms and suites, which are almost double the size, have two large beds, bathrooms with walk-in rain showers, and sliding wooden screen doors to separate bedrooms from lounge areas.

The lower rooms look out over the garden or pool, but the upper-floor rooms have the best views: over to Agios Prokopios and beyond. However, the steps to reach them are steep.
