Do not worry if you are on a budget or do not have much time to prepare, is a list of quick decorations and DIY hacks you can make with supplies from your local convenience store.
1. Welcome Sign
First, you need to welcome your guests to your party, and what better way to greet the little ones than Minnie Mouse welcome sign?
Although these signs are available on Amazon or Esty, you can make your own at home for much cheaper. Making something by hand at home opens doors for customization and personalization.
For our homemade welcome sign, you need a large sheet of black chart paper, scissors, one big and one small circular object (preferably plates), some glue, white paper, colorful pens, and pink paper. Your round plates must preferably be around 5 inches in diameter for the big ones and 3 inches for the smaller ones.
When you have collected all the supplies, start by tracing the large circle followed by the smaller circles on the black paper. Cut out the tracing, the larger piece will make the face of Minnie, and the smaller ones will make the ears. Use the pink chart paper to make the bow tie. One can go freehand or use a template from the internet. Stick everything in place to look like the image above.
In the white paper, you can write any creative welcome notes for children or go with just Welcome To The Birthday Party. Stick the sign above and the welcome sign underneath on your front door to welcome your guests.
2. Minnie Guide Sign
It is to guide your little guests to the birthday girl. It is a good idea to make cute Minnie Mouse signs to help the little ones find their way.
You can always download the printable form of the sign from Etsy or make your sign from scratch. If you wish to make the sign, it requires some easy supplies. You will need a white sheet of paper, some colored pens, and a ruler.
To make the sign, start by making a border around your white sheet of paper and leave about an inch of margin on all four sides. You can draw lines outside of the perimeter, and they can either be straight or not straight.
Once the outer part is decorated, it is time for you to draw a Disney Mouse's hand pointing toward the party. You can either use traceable from the web or go free hands. Feel free to show your creativity while writing the directions. The final sign might look like the one from the picture above.
3. Minnie Mouse Happy Birthday Banner
A birthday is incomplete without a happy birthday banner. Our themed birthday will get a Minnie Mouse banner.
You can download a pre-made image and print out the cut-and-paste pictures from Pinterest or break a sweat and make the banner yourself. If you wish to go the latter way, about 13 sheets of black paper, 13 sheets of white paper, a big sheet of pink paper, one small and one a bit larger plate, scissors, fishing line, and glue. You will also need colorful pens.
Start by cutting out 13 larger using the larger props and 26 smaller circles using the smaller plates. Each big circular piece of paper will make Minnie's face, and two smaller pieces will make her ears. Cut out her pink bow as well. Assemble the pieces of paper to form Minnie's face and complete it with a bow.
Now stick the white paper in the middle of her face and write each letter of the phrase happy birthday one by one. Assemble all the alphabet and stick it in the fishing line to be hung by the wall or as a drop-down from the ceiling. Your complete banner might look like one from the image above.
4. Birthday Party Backdrop
Nobody likes the lame old wall as the background of the dope celebration, and you ought to do something about it.
Making a simple, easy, and beautiful-looking backdrop for your kid's birthday party is just a few supplies and minutes away. You can spend some bucks to get a ready-made set or pick up a few easy supplies from your local supermarket to build yourself. If you want to go with the latter option, here is what you need.
You will need some polka-red cloth with white dots, the classic Minnie style, some big pom-poms, and the silhouette we made earlier. You can make the Silhouettes by following the Welcome Sign instructions.
When you have all the materials, start by placing the cloth in the background. You may use a hammer and nail or strong glue to fix it. Stick the silhouette in the big dotted polka fabric and hang the big pom-poms by the ceiling in front of the decoration. You might be looking for something like the picture above.
5. Minnie Mouse Balloon Column
The Minnie Mouse balloon column is not something you want to exclude from the birthday party.
However, unlike previously mentioned decorative items, the balloon columns must be purchased from online shopping or your local supermarket. We will have fun assembling them as they come deflated.
Erecting the balloon column is easy (Get those motorized pumps for added convenience). You need to inflate all the balloons in the packet and arrange them according to the instructions. Your final product should resemble the above-given picture.
