The tranquil community of Turlock, California, is grappling with an unthinkable tragedy. A beloved local couple, Troy and Susanne Borges, lost their lives in a chilling murder-suicide at their residence on E. Springer Drive, leaving behind a wave of shock and sorrow.

On the evening of October 16, the Turlock Police Department received a distress call concerning an aggravated assault from the Borges’ residence. The reporting party, the couple’s daughter, had returned home to find her parents with life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrival, the Turlock Police Officers, along with Turlock Fire, University Police, and AMR personnel, discovered a horrifying scene. Troy Borges, 60, and his wife, Susanne Borges, 61, were found deceased inside their home.

An Investigation Reveals the Unthinkable

Following an exhaustive investigation involving Turlock Police Detectives and subsequent autopsies, it was concluded that Troy Borges was responsible for his wife’s death before tragically ending his own life. A utility knife, identified as the weapon used in the incident, was recovered at the scene.

On October 16, at approximately 9:32pm, the Turlock Police Department responded to the 1000 block of E. Springer Drive for a report of an aggravated assault. The reporting party, who lives at the residence, arrived back home and found her parents with obvious life-threatening injuries.

Turlock Police Officers, along with Turlock Fire, University Police, and AMR personnel responded to the scene and found Troy Borges, 60, and his wife, Susanne Borges, 61, deceased inside the residence.

Turlock Police Detectives were called out to the scene and took over the investigation. Following the autopsy, the investigation concluded that Troy was responsible for the death of his wife and subsequently took his own life thereafter. The utility knife used was recovered at the scene.
