ACM AWARDS 2018: Nominees For Male Vocalist of the Year
Andrew Mccoy The 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards is an anticipated award show for country music fans out there. The combination of traditional country music and contemporary genre that we much enjoy are combined in one event that is celebrated annually. Today we run down the list of nominated Male Vocalist of the Year and their achievements in the ACM awards in the past years.
The nominees for Male Vocalist of the Year was announced last March 1, 2018, by Reba McEntire on the CBS This Morning show. This year’s Male Vocalist of the Year Nominees are Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban and Chris Young.
The Nominees
Chris Stapleton is the lead nominee of the 53rd Annual ACM Awards show. He has 8 nominations in different categories, including that of Entertainer, Album, Single, Song and Male Vocalist of the year. Last year’s award show Stapleton was nominated in three categories: Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (Tennessee Whiskey) and Video of the Year (Fire Away).
Thomas Rhett following Stapleton has a total of six nominations this year including, Male Vocalist, Album (Life Changes), Video (Marry Me), and Vocal Event of the Year (Craving You). During the 52nd Annual ACM Awards show Rhett won Male Vocalist and Song of the Year (Die a Happy Man). Do you think he will win this time again?
Jason Aldean has been nominated 14 times in the academy since 2005 until 2017, and he won 10 times in different accolades. This year Aldean is again nominated for Entertainer of the Year (last year he won the same category), and Male Vocalist of the Year.
Keith Urban is not far behind as he has the 3rd most nomination this year on the academy. He together with Shane McAnally have 5 nominations this year. This is Urban’s 8th time to be nominated for Entertainer of the Year since 2005.
Last, but certainly not the least is Chris Young. This is his 2nd time around to be nominated as Male Vocalist of the Year. He was nominated last 2012. According to Young,
“being nominated as male solo artist is a something you put on a pedestal.”

The big event will happen on April 15th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be hosted by Reba McEntire. She has been hosting the show 14 times since 1980’s. Is everyone excited? Who do you think will be the winner of this year’s Male Vocalist of the Year?
