TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jesse Eisenberg, known for his icy role in The Social Network and Now You See Me, is set to play the iconic villain Lex Luthor in the next installment of Man of Steel, Batman-Superman. Eisenberg's casting as Lex Luthor was out of the blue as both Warner Bros and director Zack Snyder were reported to opt Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston for the role.

Snyder, in his statement on the casting, mentioned that Lex Luthor possesses a degree of complication as a villain, having had intelligence, wealth, and position. He added that Jesse can help explore the dynamic and bring the character to new and unexpected direction.

In DC Comics, Lex Luthor is always pictured as a powerful and charismatic figure. Eisenberg's icy approach has brought a bunch of questions for the comic fans. That certainly adds the stir following Ben Affleck's casting as the new Batman as Christian Bale refused to reprise his role as the Cape Crusader of Gotham City.
