Personal Statement

My name is Aiden Strand-Fox, and I am 6'2" tall and 155 pounds (and rising) from Wooster, Ohio.  My style of play centers around speed, athleticism, positive first touch, and endless drive.  I have been playing soccer for as far back as I can remember to include increasingly competitive club soccer for the last eight years.  I have played primarily at defensive center mid for my high school, yet I played the outside wing/midfield, center back, and most recently center forward to meet the needs of the team.  In addition to being named Varsity Captain for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, I have been honored with selection to 1st and 2nd team all-conference and all-district teams and was a District Rising Star selection as a Freshman.  In addition to formal sports training and conditioning, I work with former college and ODP coach, Graham Ford, on position-specific functional training.   I am the starting Center Back for Evolution FC Soccer Club (Pennine United) where we play in the Midwest Development League (MDL), the Great Lakes Conference (GLC), and Great Lakes Alliance (GLA).  I have really enjoyed this transition to highly competitive club play! 

I absolutely love a challenge!  In my freshman year,  I earned a spot as the starting placekicker for Junior Varsity Football and was the backup kicker for Varsity.  I had never played football prior to this experience, yet I really enjoyed the challenge.  I also joined the High School swim team as a Freshman.  I had never swum competitively before and was planning to swim primarily to stay in shape for soccer.  I was surprised to find how naturally I took to swimming earning a varsity letter and advancing to sectionals in the 100 backstroke and 50-yard freestyle.  As a Sophomore, I was an all-conference honorable mention and in my Junior season, I was part of the State finalist 200 freestyle relay team.  I also ran track and started on the Varsity 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams and Pole Vault. 

Starting my high school career and continuing with club soccer in the Winter and Spring has helped me to realize one thing with absolute certainty; I am not ready for my soccer journey to come to an end after High School!  I am a 3.7 GPA honor and merit roll student with an interest in the area of Criminology/Criminal Justice and Business, yet I am open to many educational and career options.  I am currently enrolled in honors classes and was a member of the first robotics team to qualify for the state and world tournament.   My mother works for a college that provides an excellent tuition benefit, so my scholarship needs are minimal which will hopefully create additional opportunities for my college teammates.  I look forward to discussing any opportunities to play collegiate soccer and I am confident that my work ethic, fearless drive, character, and versatility will be an amazing asset to any program!
