Center Anderson Varejao has agreed to terms on a contract with the Golden State Warriors.

ESPN's Marc Stein reported the deal is for the veteran's minimum.

Anderson Varejao just sent me this message on agreeing to a deal with Warriors.

Stein, citing sources earlier on Sunday, reported the San Antonio Spurs were "still trying to sway him" to sign with the franchise before ultimately choosing Golden State.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst said on ESPN Cleveland radio on Friday the Oklahoma City Thunder were among the teams interested in Varejao.

Varejao spent the past 11-plus seasons with the Cavs, who acquired him from the Orlando Magic less than one month after the 2004 draft. He'd been reduced to a limited role, however, which made him expendable leading up to Thursday's trade deadline.

The 33-year-old Brazilian veteran averaged just 2.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 31 games before the trade. He was logging just 10 minutes per contest in those appearances.

Yet, Haynes in January passed along comments from the longtime Cleveland frontcourt stalwart, who expressed a desire to stay despite his lack of involvement.

"If I go anywhere else and win a championship, it's not going to be the same," Varejao said. "I want to win a championship in Cleveland. That's where I want to stay. I love Cleveland."

Varejao has 71 games of playoff experience under his belt, so he should provide some valuable experience to a Warriors team looking to win its second straight championship.
