For more information about me please click on this link -
I have been passionate about excellence in sports since I first started playing sports at four years old. I have aspired to play at the collegiate level and know that having the opportunity to play volleyball in college and getting a great education is my goal.
As a freshman volleyball athlete, I was pulled to the varsity team for the regional and state championships because of my strength and success at serving, serve-receive, my defensive skills and my ability to handle and be very successful in high stakes, competitive stressful game situations. I am very competitive and am excited about high stress game opportunities. I am also very coachable , attentive, dedicated and am one of the hardest working athletes you will find. What also sets me apart, is my leadership ability and the positive encouraging energy I bring to my teams. I have been told by my school and club coaches that my positive energy, total effort and leadership makes the difference to the team's and that I have never disappointed them in high stress game situations. I am honored to be selected caption for many of my school and club teams and love my teammates and the working hard.
In addition to being the only freshman to swing varsity and qualify for state championships, I also was the only freshman to compete on the varsity tennis team and also qualified for the state championships (doubles 1) and received all conference honorable mention honors and academic sport honors. My libero quickness, court sense and serving ability (I am a lefty) was a great complement and advantage for tennis as well. Being a high level multi-sport athlete has given me great perspective and experience.
In the classroom, I also strive for excellence with a 4.2 GPA, taking honors classes and tutoring other students in algebra and higher math. I participate in National Honor Society and the Gifted Talented program.
I volunteer over 50 hours a year through the National Charity League where I have served as President of the class of 2020. In addition, I have organized my volleyball club the last two years to give back to our community through making dinner and welcome bags for the John Zay House (a guest house for Penrose Hospital for older patients who need to travel for cancer treatments).
I am grateful for the support of my parents and I come from a sports minded family of Olympic long team members. My father is the head coach for the Canadian Olympic cycling team (Olympic long team cycling for New Zealand) and my mother is a long-time Olympic family professional. We are a dedicated sport family and I know what it takes to be an elite dedicated athlete. I also have a twin sister who as a freshman lettered in 4 varsity sports and went to state in 3.
I am open to all options and ultimately would like to find the right college match where I may pursue excellence in both athletics and academics and contribute by hard work and dedication to a successful team. I hope to be a great role model for my college community and would like to do an outreach program for schools in my college community. I also would like to make my family proud. Thank you for reading.
