Barcelona sign Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on loan
James Holden Barcelona have signed Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on season-long loan deals.
Joao Felix, 23, joins from Atletico Madrid while Cancelo, 29, moves from Manchester City.
The agreements for both players do not include an option to buy. In a statement announcing Felix’s transfer, however, Atletico said theforward had also extended his contract with the club for a further two years — until 2029.

Joao Felix, 23, said in July he wanted to leave Atletico and join Barca while Cancelo, 29, spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich after falling out of favour at City.
Cancelo’s move to Barca has been delayed by the Catalan club’s financial constraints.
Barcelona’s transfer business has been constrained by both financial and registration issues, which meant that departures were needed before the club was able to make further signings.

After three frustrating years in Madrid, Felix moved to Chelsea on loan last season but after four goals in 15 games, the Premier League side opted against making a permanent move for the forward.
Barcelona are unbeaten in their opening three La Liga matches, with two wins and a draw. Their next fixture is against Osasuna on Sunday.
