Bob McNair’s Fortune

Bob McNair is an American businessman and philanthropist with a net worth of $2 billion. He started his career by setting up the cogeneration company Cogen Technologies and sold it to Enron and CalPERS in 1999. Today, he still owns power plants in New York and West Virginia, and he is the Chairman and CEO of the McNair Group. In addition, he established a biotechnology investment company, Cogene Biotech Ventures, where he serves as company chairman and owns a private investment company, Palmetto Partners, Ltd., which manages his public and private equity investments. He is an avid philanthropist and chairs The McNair Foundation that supports various causes.

McNair became the owner of the Houston Texans after forming Houston NFL Holdings in 1998, determined to bring a National Football League team to Houston. He is married and has four children.
