HGTV cancelled their new series Flip It Forward before it even debuted. Why? The show's hosts, David and Jason Benham, were outed for supposedly having anti-abortion and anti-gay views similar to their father, Flip Benham, a famous pro-life campaigner who thinks it's fun to picket outside of abortion clinics. (Because, you know, everyone who enters an abortion clinic really wants to be there.) Was it fair?

The Benham boys sure don't think so. They released a statement, saying, "With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show, then so be it."

They added, "The first and last thought on our minds as we begin and end each day is: have we shined Christ's light today? Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man. Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying. Over the last decade, we've sold thousands of homes with the guiding principle of producing value and breathing life into each family that has crossed our path, and we do not, nor will we ever discriminate against people who do not share our views."

While David Benham may not have discriminated against anyone with whom he's done business, he does have some extreme views: He protested the "homosexual agenda" outside of a Democratic National Committee and equating opposing same-sex marriage to fighting the Nazi regime. (Ironically, Nazis also hate homosexuals, and the Benhams look like Aryan dreamboats. You are the enemy.)

The only unfair part of this is that Jason Benham, who hasn't been tied to any radical right-wing reports, is being punished for his brother's inane, outdated opinions.

Apparently the Benhams understand that homosexuals use the same currency, so they're able to play nice when money exchanges hands, but as soon as politics get involved, they get mad. And nothing controls politics more than money, so David Benham and his hypocrisy can take a seat, and maybe learn to live by the "biblical principles" of not judging others and loving your fellow man, even if your fellow man loves, well, fellow men.

Plus, dude -- you know that stereotypical gay dudes love decorating and HGTV, right? Way to alienate your audience ... or just be in total denial about yourself.
