Christian Horner's Baseball Recruiting Profile
Ava Arnold Personal Statement
My name is Christian Horner and I attend Keswick Christian School, in St. Petersburg, Florida. I have attended Keswick my entire life, and have been very active through many facets of my school career. Athletically I have played football, basketball, soccer, and baseball; in Student Government I have had the privilege of serving as class president in my sophomore, junior, and senior years; in Mentoring I serve as a tutor for a middle school student, and serve as a coach for the lower school athletic leagues in football, basketball, and baseball; in the Arts, I play the saxophone in the Wind Ensemble; and finally, in Spiritual Development, I have served on a mission trip to Guatemala, will be going to Costa Rica in March of 2017, attend weekly small group studies at school, and run the audio-visual controls in my local church on Sunday. As far as recognitions received, I am a member of the National Honor Society; and I have received the "Mighty in Spirit Award" for Christian leadership displayed in athletic competition on five different teams thus far in my career (baseball 2 years, basketball 1 year, football 1 year, and soccer 1 year). This past year I received the "Most Improved" award for my increased competitiveness on the mound and at the plate. I love to laugh (and do it quite often), but I am constantly working harder and harder every day to become the most coachable player on the field, an encourager to my teammates, and actively enhance team chemistry in the clubhouse. Baseball has always been my favorite sport and I've always loved playing on the field with my team. I have a huge desire to play baseball in college. It is a major part of my life and I don't want to let it go. I love to win and will absolutely be coached by anyone or do anything to help a team win. Though I love playing baseball, I cherish my relationship with Christ more than anything. I love my incredible family (who all work so hard to encourage and help me achieve my goals) and I most certainly thankful form my great friends I've come to know. I am very excited for this next season of high school baseball where I will once again take the field with my team.
