Cirdan Heughan and His Unique Name
Cirdan Heughan was born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland, exactly in Balmaclellan, Dumfries, and Galloway. He has a peaceful life and lived happily with his siblings.
The parents of Cirdan were members of Gandalf’s Garden, a hippy community in London heavily influenced by J. R. R. Tolkien’s writings.
Rather than using harsh drugs, the hippie group promoted psychedelia and meditation as a cure to every problem.
Tolkien inspired them to name Cirdan Heughan and his young brother, Sam Heughan after characters from The Lord of the Rings.
Cirdan is a figure from Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings”; he was indeed an elf who has been the Lord of the Falathrim after the First Age, and was considered as among the elves with the greatest insight and wisdom.
Early Struggle
His mother, Chrissie Heughan, single-handedly without even anyone’s help nurtured him because his father deserted the family when children were young.
To satisfy the demands of her children, Chrissie had to work tons of jobs. She worked really hard to earn for her children and gave them the best life.
Chrissie completed her education at a nearby school in her town before attending Edinburgh College of Art and graduating in 1995.
Mrs. Heughan also attended Dumfries and Galloway College of Technology, where she majored in Art and Design, Fine Art.
The mother of two has carved herself a career as a fine artist. Within a week of obtaining her college degree, she started working as a professional artist as well as a freelance teacher.
Shortly after gaining enough experience, she became a member of the Society of Scottish Artists and started teaching at Edinburgh College of Art in 2012.
As of now, Cirdan Heughan’s mother has earned many honors from various organizations as a result of her efforts.

Whereas Cirdan literally grew up with his younger brother, Sam Heughan, a well-known actor. He is British by nationality and Caucasian White by ethnicity. Both siblings have great bonding.
Since their childhood days, they were there to support each other amidst much financial crisis and their mother always taught them how to save money.
Cirdan Heughan went to Kells Primary School, according to his academic record. He was an average student unlike his little brother, Sam.
Moreover, Sam also attended Kells Primary School. He went to school every day with his older brother, Cirdan.
When he moved to Edinburgh at the age of twelve, he went to James Gillespie’s High School for a year before attending the Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School till the end of his sixth year.
Sam then joined Theatre and started performing in Dramas from where he gained a lot of recognition and motivation to pursue his career in acting.
Sam Heughan was among four students who got selected to represent RSAMD in the BBC Carlton Hobbs radio talent competition soon before graduation in 2002.
Sam has previously been in a number of films and TV series. Outlander, A Princess of Christmas, Plague Over England, Romeo and Juliet, and many more important projects in which he has played his part.

Cirdan’s personal life is reported to be that he is married to his long-time girlfriend and the beautiful name of his wife is Victoria Lawson aka Vicki.
The pair exchanged wedding vows in a small ceremony attended by close friends and family members. The couple has been married for a year and has a son.
Battle With Cancer
Cirdan was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2008 and then had to endure surgery to get rid
of the condition, according to reports.
Cirdan recovered completely following surgery, but it inspired Sam to utilize his popularity for good as well.
He is quite active in promoting cancer-fighting groups and constantly highlights the need for males to obtain regular check-ups.
Ever since, the Heughan family has been highly involved in helping cancer-related charities, raising cash, and donating to cancer sufferers on a yearly basis.
Cirdan and Sam Relationship With Their Dad
The Heughan boys harbored a grudge against their father for abandoning them and their mother to a life of misery, with their mother working days and nights.
Cirdan Heughan and his brother Sam, on the other hand, were reconciled with their dad in 2014, while he was residing on an island in Canada until their father died of Leukemia.
Although Sam avoids discussing his father in general, whilst writing Clanlands, the accompanying book to his series, Men in Kilts, Sam revealed that the kilts in Outlander reminded him of his deceased father.
He told, “Most dear to me is my father’s kilt, which I received after he passed away whilst I was shooting Season One of Outlander in 2014. I haven’t worn it yet.”
“It’s MacDonald, as our family descends from the MacDonalds and comes with a plain but well-used brown leather sporran,” he continued.
Sam ended the discussion by saying: “I’ll honour him one day by wearing it – just need to lose some weight first, he was rather slender!”
