The 'UFC 296: Edwards vs. Covington' fight is heating up just two days before the big event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Saturday Dec. 17 fight's (10:00 pm ET) main event press conference had its two fighters almost brawl on stage, with Leon Edwards even impacting Colby Covington with a water bottle.

The most ridiculous moment, however, came after Colby Covington came out dressed as a 'blue coat' from the United States Revolutionary War, with a white wig included and topped by (what has become) his own trademark MAGA hat. The gesture was supposed to poke fun at Leon Edwards British nationality, with Colby asking "where's your red coat?"

The red coats were the uniform of the English during the US revolutionary war (1775-1783), which of course lost and gave way to what we know today as the United States of America. However, the joke came crashing down with Edwards' response to Colvington: "The guy came here dressed like a f*cking drag queen. I don't know what he's trying to go for".

The American fighter then took a jab at Edwards' educational level: "Of course you don't know what I'm going for. You need to graduate elementary school first. You're a f*cking idiot".

The press conference ultimately ended when Colvington was caught off-guard by a water bottle that Edwards threw at him. Security promptly stepped in before the fighters could lay hands on each other. But they'll be able to take out their grievances during the main event on Saturday night.
