Seager Comments on Recovery

"Everything was fine," Seager said after taking four at-bats in a workout, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. "I rounded first, stopped like I did when it buckled the last time, did other little things, no problems so far. No pain, that was nice."

Gurnick reported Seager has been running and participating in lateral-agility field drills. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he has been cleared to do some hitting and fielding as well, per Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.

Seager told reporters there was concern of a meniscus tear, but that the MRI did not reveal one and the "structure is good." Seager added he had "some swelling" in the knee and "it kind of buckled" as he rounded first base.

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported Seager's MRI showed a mild knee sprain. He's expected to be out one to two weeks.
Seager Emerging as Young Star for Dodgers
Formerly Los Angeles' top prospect, the 21-year-old made his major league debut last season and immediately showed he is here to stay by hitting .337 in the final 27 games.

With no true backup shortstop now that the team has parted ways with Jimmy Rollins, the Dodgers will have to rely on infielders such as Alex Guerrero and Enrique Hernandez to step in for Seager while he recovers.
While it doesn't seem like an injury that will impact the Dodgers' regular season, they will be hoping their young star is completely healthy when they take on the San Diego Padres in their first regular-season game on April 4.
