Curtis Straup's Baseball Recruiting Profile
Daniel Foster Personal Statement
Baseball is a game of mental and physical toughness that prepares you for life. The game teaches you to be mindful of your surroundings, embrace a culture, be supportive of your coaches/teammates and develops strong relationships with multiple people. Once you accomplish this you grow to become the best you can be. Baseball for me is about growing as an individual.
I enjoy working the pitcher to develop a good at-bat and making solid contact with the ball. Also, I enjoying the defense side of the ball as you need to be watching player advancement and strategy. Being engaged allows you to make the play to help the team win the game.
Playing college ball for me means doing something that very few people get an opportunity to do and I would be the first in my family to be a college athlete. I am prepared for this next step because of strong family support, I am coachable, hardworking and realize the sacrifice it will take. To me, this is a small price when you look at the benefits of playing college ball. I will become stronger mentally, tougher physically and prepared to tackle the tough challenges that I may face as an adult.
