Personal Statement

College Coaches,

I am Delano DreJon Ware, a student-athlete, a member of the National Honor Society for High School Students, strong safety for the El Cerrito High School team. Playing college football is one of my personal dreams, along with graduating with a degree in Sports Medicine and a minor in Graphic Design. My passion for football began at the age of seven. I truly understand that playing at the colligate level is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it should not be taken for granted. It would open many doors in the future.

I feel in order for me to continue to be successful academically and as an athlete, one needs to be discipline, dedicated, focus, and hardworking. Not only those qualities are essential, but as a young man, it is also important to be a role model for my peers and others. I am blessed to have so many positive role models and supporters in my life, and they have taught me how to grow as an individual. By keeping these qualities as a priority and a standard for myself, I am proud to say that I was appointed one of four captains for my varsity team and 1^st Team All League.

My hope and goal as a student-athlete in college, is to continue to earn the respect of my coaches and teammates and be recognized as a leader, on and off the field. I believe in the commitment to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends. It would be a privilege to attend a college where I can balance my passion for the game of football and achieve highly in the academics. I understand the importance of applying yourself in the classroom, as well, as the field. It would be an honor if I can contribute to a college's success.
