Bound Manacle is a quest item in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. You’ll need to find it if you want to cleanse the Essence of Insanity and get the Love and Death legendary weapon. Like all the other essence-related items, it isn’t marked on the map, which means you’ll probably have a hard time finding it without help. This guide is going to show you where to find bound manacle in Destiny 2, so you can complete the quest and get the weapon.

Where to find Bound Manacle?

After you start the quest, you’ll be asked to get a certain number of grenade launcher kills and find the Bound Manacle. The item can be obtained by going to the Gatehouse, one of the areas below ground. Go to Hellmouth and enter the big building in the north. Once you’re inside, turn towards the south and go through the door on the right. Follow the tunnels into the Gatehouse, keeping to the right, until you reach the second big hall. If you explore it a little, a mini boss called Erhath’ur, Eternal Blade will show up. Depending on your power level, he might be a real threat, or a walk in the park. Make sure you use an energy weapon to deplete his shield. Once you’ve killed him, he’ll drop the Bound Manacle.

Once you’ve cleansed the essence and interacted with the Lectern of Enchantment, you’ll get a legendary weapon called Love and Death. It’s grenade launcher with a stackable damage increase buff. Other essences will also grant either weapons, or parts of a legendary armor set called Dreambane. It offers added benefits when fighting Nightmares, so it’s a pretty useful thing to have, what with all the Nightmares on the Moon and stuff. Might even be a good fit for the upcoming raid.
