Drita was born on February 6, 1976 in New York City to Albanian immigrants. She married Lee D’Avanzo in 2000, who has a criminal record and is a former member of the New Springville Boys and an associate of the Bonnano crime family.

In December 2019, both Lee and Drita D’Avanzo were charged with firearms and drug possession after a search warrant was executed at their home. The charges against Drita were dropped but Lee eventually pleaded guilty to the charge. Drita and Lee have two daughters, and she freelances as a make-up artist and is developing her own cosmetic line.
