Of course this should not be a shock to anyone. A Professional Wrestler used steroids. But seeing someone like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson saying he used is shocking. I mean we see people like Brock Lesnar, Batista, and Bobby Lashley who are possible.

All of whom look like they have taken steroids for years before coming to the WWE and are still on them. But a guy like Johnson has not ever been thought of for using them.

I was shocked to hear that he used them. I feel, however, that he may not have to say he has to thank 'roids for his career. His mic skills alone got him noticed and into the acting scene where he still is today.

It is not clear how long he took them, or if the WWE even had good testing policies in place during Johnson's WWE career.

Vince McMahon was about to go to jail in the early '90s, he was said to be giving illegal steroids to his wrestlers. He may have not handed them out, but he bought them for the wrestlers is what some thought.

Since he was the head of the WWE at the time, and others tested positive, he was put on trial. It was a bit unfair some think, but if something like this happens in a company, the head of the company is the one to get blamed.

People thought that Hulk Hogan, who was said to have used, would put McMahon in jail when he took the stand.

Hogan denied ever having anything to do with steroids, and the fact that Vince offered him or any other wrestlers any to use. Vince was let go of all charges and then put a policy in place to keep him from getting into this trouble again.

Of course, now there is a good policy in place. Bobby Lashley, a former ECW Champion in the WWE said he never tested positive for steroids in the WWE. Also, he said that the policy was good in the WWE, and he believes no one is on steroids right now.

Some tested positive for them before, such as Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and Hurricane Helms to name a few. All tested positive and some were suspended.

As we all know, Guerrero and Benoit have now passed because of their history of steroids. Guerrero had been clean for a while, but with his history he had done to much damage to himself.

Of course we all know what Benoit did, and he had 'roids in his system when all of this took place. So we know for a fact what he did was triggered somewhat at least by them.

The policy in the WWE had gotten better after Guerrero's death, but not as much as it could be. After Benoit's death, it had gotten very strict

Which could be what Lashley meant in his comments. Of course he could say anything he wants about the WWE right now. He is no longer a part of the WWE of course.

So with him saying this does help the WWE in the eyes of people who doubted them being clean. They also have fired people over being hooked to pain killers like they did with Bob "Hardcore" Holly.

He was sent to rehab, and seemed to be getting better, but still was let go by the WWE.

Drugs such as steroids and pain killers have been a part of wrestling for a long time, but I think they are cleaning up.

Examples like The Rock are in the past when it comes to steroids to me. I think everyone is off of them, if not I am sure the WWE tells them they have to be now.

Why go through more bad press? Tragedies like Benoit and Guerrero look to not be happening again.

With the passing of Andrew "Test" Martin, who had been on 'roids in the past, make things even more evident that they are not good for you in the long run. Of course, I would like to say that it is not certain Martin's passing was caused by 'roids.

But for me, knowing his past, it could have been drug related in some way. Of course we will not know until the autopsy.

Steroids kill people, it is just that easy. You walk a fine line when you use them. And people like The Rock knew that. This is not just in wrestling, but in football and other sports out there

More and more kids out there think they have to use to compete with others. It seems everyone is on something. So just to get up to their level you have to use.

This is not true, you don't have to use steroids to be at the level of others. Soon they will see why it is better to be clean than not.
