With the constant flip-flopping between where Dwight Howard wants to pursue his next paycheck, he has truly become the league’s most-hated player.

Howard is awfully reminiscent of the Brett Favre and his retirement drama that dominated the sports headlines for months during the tail end of his career.

Those feelings were short-lived, however, as Howard apparently changed his mind yet again.

Can he just give it a rest already?

He could have avoided this whole situation by not opting in for another season and becoming a free agent. Instead, Howard worried about public opinion, and after months of masquerading as the Magic’s superstar, he decided to stay in Orlando.

Dwight already messed this up, and now he’s doing it again.

The sports world is tired of hearing a pampered celebrity whine and moan when he or she doesn’t get their way. Howard is only joining a long list of athletes who have forced their way out of the franchise that made them.

But Howard’s situation just feels different.

With his constant indecision, he frustrates not only sports fanatics, but he also isolates his fans by leaving them guessing at each part of the ordeal.

Howard needs to shut his mouth and play basketball. If he were actually worried about his game, he would be in the gym shooting free throws rather than in the media shooting smoke screens on his way out of Orlando.

While LeBron James left Cleveland with “The Decision”, Howard’s tale has revolved around indecision. And, the latter is much worse.

He has dragged out the process, damaging his brand—something Howard apparently is worried about.

He lacks the self-awareness to realize that this offseason will be extremely detrimental to his overall legacy.

But with how he has handled this whole situation, it appears that he cares about one thing and one thing only: Dwight Howard.

Howard has morphed himself into the most-hated man in the NBA and regardless of where he goes, the boos that follow him will remind just how poorly he handled this situation.
