(CNN) -- Recent signing Edin Dzeko scored his first goal for Manchester City as the English Premier League big spenders survived a major shock to earn a 1-1 FA Cup fourth round draw at Notts County on Sunday.
Dzeko converted Micah Richards' teasing right-wing cross from close range with just 10 minutes remaining, after third-tier County threatened to spring a major surprise.
On a heavy pitch, County, who are managed by former England international Paul Ince, were always a match for their illustrious opponents and it was no surprise when they took the lead on the hour -- Neal Bishop heading home from a corner.
But City dug deep to level matters and will now be confident of completing the job in the replay at the City of Manchester stadium.
In other fourth round ties on Sunday, Arsenal remain the only English side in the hunt for all four trophies, beating another third-tier side, Huddersfield Town, despite playing over half the match with just 10 men.
The first half went to form and Arsenal took the lead through Nicklas Bendtner's deflected effort.
However, three minutes before the break, the Gunners had central defender Sebastien Squillaci sent off for denying Huddersfield a clear goalscoring opportunity.
And the visitors made their man advantage count in the second half, eventually claiming a deserved leveller when Alan Lee headed home a corner.
But the introduction of captain and talisman Cesc Fabregas galvanized the home side -- and the Spaniard won the match from the penalty spot with just four minutes remaining after Bendtner had been fouled in the area.
West Ham are also through to the fifth round, despite trailing at home to Championship side Nottingham Forest 2-1 at one stage.
However, a hat-trick from Nigerian striker Victor Obinna eventually put the Hammers into the next round of the competition.
Also going through are Stoke City, who won 1-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers thanks to a late Robert Huth header.
And, in the late afternoon match, Champions League last 16 side Tottenham suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at Fulham with all the goals coming in the first half.
Danny Murphy netted two penalties, one which resulted in the dismissal of defender Michael Dawson, while Brede Hangeland and Moussa Dembele were also on target for the home side.
Meanwhile, the draw for the fifth round of the competition has been made and it has produced a fairytale outcome with Crawley Town, who are in the fifth-level of English football -- outside the 92 teams who make up the four professional leagues -- handed a dream visit to Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United.
