Elly De La Cruz parents have been his constant supporters since his early childhood. De La Cruz wears a pendant with a picture of his mother Carmin.

De La Cruz was born in Sabana Grande de Boyá, Dominican Republic. His mom Carmin has always been a supporter of his career, even before he left his home aged 6 years old in 2008 to live with his coach's brother seeking better opportunities.

According to Cincinnati Enquirer, Elly's mother said she would always support him throughout his baseball career regardless of how far it went. The player has reached Major League Baseball, one of the highest leagues of sports in the world.

Although Elly has kept his mom close to his heart by wearing a pendant with her picture and talking about her during press meets, De La Curz has never mentioned anything about his father during his interviews. He is yet to reveal his father's name.

The baseball player also revealed that he said that the coach's brother had to ask his mom before he could take him in aged 6 years old in 2008 to train him and provide better opportunities. 

Elly's revealed his loved ones and friends would gather at his home in the Dominican Republic to celebrate his promotion to Major League Baseball. The baseball player receives immense support from his father, mother, siblings, and friends.
