Dr. Weil notes that while mushrooms are indeed a beauty powerhouse, the fungi boast internal benefits, too. “Mushrooms have great therapeutic benefits and have long been ignored by Western medicine,” he says. “Reishi and chaga support immune function, and protect against infection and cancer. Reishi is also a powerful anti-inflammatory agent.”
