Officer on Deck is one of the quests in Fallout 76. It’s part of the Enclave storyline, and you’ll get it only after you’ve joined the faction. In order to complete it, you’ll have to earn promotion commendations by doing heroic deeds – slaughtering epic and legendary monsters, and completing Enclave events. As you’d expect, there’s at least four bugs that are stopping people from finishing this seemingly simple mission. This guide will show you how to complete Fallout 76 Officer on Deck quest, how to fix or avoid the multitude of bugs that may present themselves.

Officer on Deck disappears from quest log

Some players have been complaining about the quest disappearing from their quest log as soon as they left the Enclave base. This is one of the easier ones. Simply change the server, and it should be back in your log like nothing happened. Just make sure you don’t try to earn any commendations while it isn’t in your quest log, as they won’t count towards the total.

Where to find Enclave events?

Hunting the creatures is a better choice than completing Enclave events, simply because it’s faster. But if you still want to complete them, you should know they’re tied to certain locations. We’ve found one in Harper’s Ferry, and another in the south part of the Savage Divide.

Where to find epic creatures?

When hunting epic and legendary creatures, you should look for horde events. They pop up on the map from time to time, in random places. The thing about them is that you won’t get a notification when one spawns. You’ll have to check the entire map regularly, and when you see one, you’ll be able to fast travel to it, even if you haven’t visited the location beforehand.

11/10 commendations bug

A lot of people have been reporting this bug. The game shows they’ve obtained 11 out of the necessary 10 promotion commendations, but still won’t let them progress with the quest. If this happens to you, you should just try the universal solution – switch servers and the issue should go away.
