When Snapchat was first unveiled, I know we all thought the same thing: "OMG yassss. Finally I can send some naked photos to my boyfriend without worrying he's secretly saving them. Yasssss." 

For a long time, all you had to do was make sure the snap didn't last longer than two seconds and secretly pray Snapchat hasn't been storing every photo all along. It was a simpler — and better — time. 

But things change, and in the world of technology that change usually means things are getting creepier. Now there are apps you can download that save all the Snapchats you receive automatically and without the sender's knowledge. I found that out by snooping through my ex-boyfriend's phone. What fun! 

So why I've personally been too paranoid to send more than a bare shoulder, many people are still using the app for all their sexting and nude photo needs. And rather than avoid their NSFW users, Snapchat is stepping up its game.

The latest "My Eyes Only" feature allows you to stash snaps you don't want anybody accidentally clicking on in a private section of that app. Photos saved there will be backed up in the cloud, so you know, don't let anybody into your cloud either. 

"We realized that Snapchatters want to feel comfortable showing their memories to friends while they're hanging out together, so we made it easy to move Snaps and Stories to My Eyes Only — and avoid awkward moments when a friend stumbles upon a Snap meant just for you," Snapchat wrote in a blog post.

Photos saved there will be backed up in the cloud — something I still personally do not understand — so you know, don't let anybody into your cloud either. 

I went to go try the feature myself, but apparently I'm not special enough to be one of the Snapchat guinea pigs.

The feature will eventually be available to everyone along with the "Memories" option. In this cute and less sexy feature, you create your own stories from previous snaps, that are not limited to the 24-hour lifespan of current stories.

Even if you're like me and only use Snapchat to take videos of your cat that everyone is over seeing, you can still appreciate the coolness of the company to recognize all of its users' desires. Though it's had some troubling features in the past, it's nice to know that Snapchat is headed in the direction of making everyone feel welcome on the app.
