This saying is often used in a humorous way to tell someone or a group of people that there is a problem or an issue that needs to be dealt with. The phrase was originally uttered by the Apollo 13 mission crew in the 1970s. They uttered those words from space all the way to their base in Houston to report that they had encountered a major problem.
