How Barnesville became Wind Gap, Missouri
Daniel Foster ATLANTA- Tax incentives brought the producers of HBO's "Sharp Objects" to Georgia, but it's the variety of settings and the crews they met made that made them believers.
The Georgia Film, TV, and Digital Entertainment Office just released a video from the producers of "Sharp Objects" talking about why they enjoy shooting in Georgia.
Barnesville itself serves as the imaginary town of Wind Gap, Missouri. That's the hometown of the main character. "Sharp Objects" is based on the novel by Gillian Flynn who is also known for "Gone Girl". The mystery series stars Amy Adams. It centers around crime reporter Camille Preaker. She must confront psychological demons from her past when she returns to her hometown to cover a violent murder.
The first season of "Sharp Objects" is currently airing on HBO.
