How Newcastle held on for a goalless draw against AC Milan on their Champions League return

A big missed opportunity for Milan.
The reality is their chance creation was excellent and well-balanced, too. After a dominant first-half they took a while to adjust to captain Calabria leaving the pitch, but substitute Florenzi ended up delivering some good crosses and being an attacking threat.
But after a terrible loss to Inter, this is one of the worst ways to draw a game — dominate and lack incision.
Leao and Giroud, both ever-reliable, made errors and should have had goals. But perhaps the biggest worry is the wellbeing of goalkeeper Maignan and central midfielder Loftus-Cheek who both went off with injuries.
