In my perfect world, I would live in baggy jeans and a tee all year long. Of course, with the changing weather plus the need to dress up (which I also love, of course!), it’s just not totally feasible. So to get as close as I can to my perfect world, I wear this two-piece combo whenever I can (aka, a lot) — and while I have a slew of go-to blues, there’s one tee that I regularly reach for: this simple Gap tee that feels so luxe but is actually very affordable.

In fact, during Amazon’s October Prime Sale, my trusty white tee is even more affordable — as in, it’s 50 percent off! — which means I will, most definitely, be stocking up on a few fresh styles. And no, not because my other one is showing any signs of wear and tear (which you'd usually expect from a simple white tee after repeated wear), but because when I love something as much as I love this, and the price is as good as it is right now, I’d simply be silly not to replenish my collection. Because let me tell you, this isn't your average white T-shirt. 

There are affordable basics and then there are luxe basics — and there’s certainly a clear difference in the quality and, of course, the price, between the two. But every so often, you find an affordable basic that can easily be categorized as luxe — and this Gap find is just that. It’s normally priced at $30, which really isn’t too bad either, but at $15, there’s simply no going wrong. It’s basically the cost of two cups of coffee — but this will last you much longer than an 8-ounce cup of caffeine.

“Luxe” is in the name, and TBH, I was hesitant about that before I tried it. Considering the price, I didn’t immediately equate it as something, well, luxe, but this was clearly another case of “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” When I got the tee, I was utterly blown away. It’s made from a lightweight, super-soft rayon-blend that felt amazing to the touch and even better on. It had a little bit of flow to it, but still maintained that fitted silhouette I love in a crisp white tee. And, it wasn’t sheer, either, something that’s a common source of frustration in the white tee department.

The sleeves were the perfect length. The crew neckline? Ideal. And it looked great tucked in or loosely hung over denim. Its inherent versatility lends itself well to so many looks — which is why I’ve also worn it with pleated skirts or leather pants when I’ve wanted to dress up more — and it’s also ideal for all-season wear. In the summer, I wear it on its own, but come chillier fall and winter weather, I simply layer it underneath a jacket or a sweater for some added warmth.
