Jessica Wood TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jack the Ripper is finally unmasked! In a series of DNA research, scientists revealed that Jack The Ripper was actually a Polish immigrant named Aaron Kosminski.
Daily Mail reported that Kosminski was a Polish immigrant, working in Whitechapel, house for Jew refugees in East End London, England, in 1881. Kosminski, moving to London with his wife Golda nee Lubnowska, worked as a barber.
The story of Jack the Ripper hit London following the death of three girls in Whitechapel in 1888. The police suspected three men, one of whom was Jack the Ripper. However, Kosminski escaped jail time as there was no clear evidence despite solid witnesses and family testimonies.
In 1891, Kosminski suffered from hallucination and metal breakdown. He was admitted to Colney Asylum for three years before leaving to Leavesden Asylum. Komninski died at the age of 53 in February 1919, having lost a significant amount of his weight due to paranoia.
