James Acaster was actively dating until 2016 and had two celebrity ex-girlfriends. 

James' dating life can be traced to 2010, when he first got romantically involved with fellow comedian Louise Ford. He also dated another comedian Rose Matafeo. 

The 37-year-old hasn't been fortunate about his relationships as he couldn't last more than a few years with either of his ex-girlfriends.

James Dated Louise Ford Since 2010 To 2013

James Acaster's first known girlfriend is English comedian-actress Louise Ford. 

Louise, who is four years older than her ex-boyfriend, is known for her performances in movies and TV shows like Crashing, Chickens, Denial, and The Dinner Party. 

Acaster and Ford commenced their relationship in 2010 and were together until 2013. However, the couple's relationship started to crumble after two years as Louise became visibly cold and distant from him. She eventually broke up with him in 2013, but it took more than a year for James to find out the real reason for their breakup.

It turned out Louise grew close to Rowan Atkinson after they acted together in a play titled Quartermaine’s Terms. Acaster learned from a magazine that his girlfriend left him to be with Mr. Beans. Although initially devastated by the news, he gradually came to terms with the breakup and has even joked about being the only person to get dumped for Mr. Bean.

Meanwhile, Ford and Atkinson have been together since 2014. The duo welcomed their first child, a daughter named Isla Atkinson, in 2017.

Also, Acaster is not the only one to suffer from his girlfriend dating Mr. Bean. As per Stuff NZ, the Johnny English actor divorced his wife of 24 years, Sunetra Sastry, to be with the young comedian. The former husband-wife duo has two children from their marriage, a son named Benjamin Atkinson and a daughter called Lily Shastri.

James Acaster Was In Love With Comedianne Rose Matafeo Between 2015 To 2016

Acaster started dating New Zealand comedian Rose Matafeo in 2015, two years after his relationship with Louise Ford ended.

The duo first met in New Zealand and soon hit it off. Initially, James and Rose maintained a long-distance relationship; however, Matafeo later shifted to London to be with her boyfriend. 

Their relationship went smoothly for a year, but the couple split in 2016; the reason for their break up has not been revealed to date. 

Rose, best known for her performances in Starstruck and Funny Girls, later hinted that the relationship didn't work out due to their similar work nature. As both Acaster and Matafeo are comedians, their professional rivalry could have played a crucial factor in the split. 

Talking to Newshub NZ, Rose mentioned that dating James was like dating a co-worker. She added that no one should date a comedian, including the New Zealand artist. 

Acaster is not the only comedian Rose has dated. Previously, she was in a relationship with comedian Guy Williams, the current partner of New Zealand MP Golriz Ghahraman.
