But even at his age and with his playing time, Terry made it clear to Matt Martinez of the Star-Telegram that he had no plans to retire even before the Rockets told him he wouldn't come back, per SiriusXM NBA Radio's Justin Termine:
I want to play two more years and then jump immediately into coaching or management. I’ve had some unique opportunities like this past year at the [NCAA] Division I level, interviewing for the Alabama-Birmingham job, which was a great experience and something I look forward to in the future.
A veteran who has shot 37.9 percent from three-point range during his career while making a living coming off the bench for the past nine seasons represents a solid depth addition for the Bucks' backcourt.
