Jeanette Alatorre Obituary, Death – The tragic incident in which a woman was shot and killed by police in Boulder on Sunday has been named. Jeanette Alatorre, a 51-year-old woman, was shot and killed near the North Boulder Recreation Center. In what appears to have been a tragic chain reaction, the shooting took place after Alatorre allegedly brandished a replica gun near the recreation center, according to reports.

There has been an unfortunate death in the Alatorre family, and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office is looking into it. At around 4:10 p.m., a driver called the police to report seeing a woman with a gun near the recreation center’s driveway exit. A short two minutes after officers arrived at 4:12 p.m., they spotted Alatorre near the center. According to Boulder Police Deputy Chief Ron Gosage, who spoke at a news conference, Alatorre refused to cooperate with authorities and tried to escape by running north on Broadway.

While they were arguing, the cops saw Alatorre look into her purse and what looked like a gun. No amount of non-lethal tactics used by the police could de-escalate the situation. After that, at 4:26 p.m., the cops shot Alatorre, hurting him injuries. Tragically, Alatorre passed away after about 40 minutes of heart-wrenching attempts at lifesaving by the authorities who had rushed to her aid.

Gosage further revealed that Alatorre was associated with a previous trespassing incident at the recreation center, where she allegedly refused to leave a restroom. It should be noted that she did not brandish a firearm during that first incident.
