The principal owners of the NFL team, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL are Jessica Pegula’s parents.

On Tuesday, 7,2023, the American professional tennis player shared the news regarding her mother’s health issues. According to the Pegula family, the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills co-owner Kim Pegula went into cardiac arrest back in June 2022.

She is still recovering and dealing with significant expressive aphasia and memory issues. Jessica said her mother worked hard for her speedy recovery, but where she ended up is still unknown.

She wrote a letter to The Players Tribune, published on February 7, 2023. She shared her thoughts that her mother might be unable to rejoin her roles in the way she had been.

Furthermore, she also shared the whole journey about when it happened. Jessica was in the French Open for the last two weeks, and after that, she flew back to Florida. 

About her French Open tour, she said that it was an amazing two weeks full of positivity, and she also landed herself in the Top 10 in the world. 

A few days after she landed in Florida, she got a call from her sister Kelly Pegula at midnight on her mother’s birthday. Her sister was staying at her parent’s house, and she was told something was wrong with her mother and taken to the hospital by ambulance.

When Terry tried to wake her up, Kim was asleep during the cardiac arrest but was unresponsive for quite a while. Her sister, Kelly, gave her mother CPR until the ambulance arrived. Even though Kelly saved her life but did not like to take credit for that terrible situation.
