Johans Baladad's Men's Tennis Recruiting Profile
Sarah Rodriguez Personal Statement
I fell in love with the sport of tennis when I was moved up to varsity as a sophomore. Since I was 6, I've always been an all-around athlete, and my knowledge and wisdom from other sports has influenced my tennis skills and abilities to the most mature level. I am proud to say that I am one of the most athletic and intelligent student-athletes around my area. Because of my unique mix of talents, I work insanely hard in everything I do - on the court and in the classroom. As much as I take my studies seriously, I am driven to exercise and practice everyday just the same. My determination and passion for sports has always pushed me to rise above expectations, especially with my physical stature. With me, I will always play with a chip on my shoulder - nothing is given and I believe everything in life is earned. I learn from my mistakes, and I quickly adapt and move forward. I've always believed that it's important to take in constructive criticism from my coaches and peers because it helps me to evaluate my own game. Not only that, but over my experiences in many sports, and especially in tennis, I've gradually become a vital leader to my teammates. A natural part of my character is helping others succeed, and to encourage and motivate them to be the best athletes they can be. Finally, as much as tennis is an individual sport, my time playing at Carmel Catholic High School has shown me the values of teamwork and family. The sport of tennis is one I continually give and take from, always learning, improving, and having fun.
