Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has had health problems in the last few months, according to information that has circulated in the media.

Even his father, Julio Cesar Chavez, has expressed his concern over his son's alleged dependence on some pills.

But Junior has denied on several occasions such problems and is already thinking of returning to the ring.

The boxer was interviewed at the fight between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis over the weekend in San Francisco.

"I'm fine, I feel good. I'm going to fight in January or February, I'm healthy and ready for that," he said to Boxing King.

"There's been a lot of shit going on around me, but here I am, all good."

JC Chavez Jr. has not fought since 2021, the year in which he had a couple of fights: one he lost by split decision to Anderson Silva in June and the second he won by unanimous decision against David Zegarra in December.

His record so far, at the age of 37, is 35-6-1.

He was WBC Middleweight world champion in 2011 when he defeated Sebastian Zbik, a title he lost in 2012 when he lost to Argentine Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez.

In 2017 he fought Canelo Alvarez and lost by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Chavez Jr. was also questioned about Saul Alvarez's possible fight with David Benavidez, in which he does not see a favorite.

"I don't know, it's a 50-50...," he said.

"I think Canelo can beat him, he can be the best Canelo, he has good condition and power.

"Benavidez is a good big man, he has good skills and is a very tough opponent."
