Katie Holmes Wore a Rag & Bone Quilted Jacket in New York

Sometimes we go a couple days without a Katie Holmes sighting, and it's not our favorite thing. But thankfully she's back and fall Katie Holmes is ready. And by that we mean she's already pulling out the best coats and giving us fall fit inspiration for months on end. See! This is why we need her.

Holmes was spotted wearing Rag & Bone's Ruby liner jacket, which is currently available in all four colors, including Holmes's army green and a vibrant orange, pale beige, and classic black. It also features a figure-flattering waist tie and looks like it's as comfortable as a brand new quilt.

Essentially, it has all the makings of the next 'It' fall jacket, especially because Rag & Bone also just so happens to be Jennifer Aniston's go-to brand. If it turns out all of Hollywood owned this jacket, or is in the process of buying one for themselves, we wouldn't necessarily be surprised.

Unfortunately, the jacket is nearly $500, and a longer version of it is $695. Of course, we think it's worth the splurge, but there's also more than a handful of coats that look similar enough for far less. Topshop makes the superior under-$100 version and Free People has its Dolman quilted jacket, which is extremely popular amongst celebrities (like most of its outwear) and costs under $200.

Basically, this fall is a little different than fall 2020. Fortunately and unfortunately, we don't have as much of an excuse to just live in bed all day. But Holmes is giving us permission to essentially wear a quilt for a coat — and that's the best fall trend so far.
