About Keith Greer

I leverage over 35 years of experience as Professional Coach, Family Therapist, School Social Worker, Addictions Specialist, Speaker and Trainer toward  my compassionate, creative and influential work with individuals, organizations and businesses.

I am profoundly honored to work with people who are passionate about creating work, home and school lives that are highly meaningful and fulfilling. My relationship with my clients is guided by an unwavering belief that all people are the experts on their own lives and are ultimately capable of designing and charting a direction for their future. By tapping into their own brilliance and sense of personal power, my clients are empowered to create, and successfully achieve, personal goals that not only lead to sustained and lasting change, but are clearly aligned with their values, dreams and aspirations.

A graduate of The Syracuse University School of Social Work, I received my professional Coaching Training from The Institute For Life Coach Training, an approved training program of the International Coach Federation (ICF). I am recognized by ICF as a Professional Certified Coach (P.C.C.).

In addition to my work with my clients, I have developed a reputation as a highly effective, passionate and enthusiastic Speaker/Trainer. Nothing jazzes me more than to have the opportunity to speak with groups of people about the many challenges and joys of the human experience.  The sharing of ideas on how we can all be our best selves creates such a strong sense of connection and meaning! I have been an Adjunct Faculty member at both Rochester Institute of Technology and Nazareth College where I have created and taught courses on Addiction and Family Therapy. In addition, I have spoken to various groups/organizations on topics such as Effective Communication, Leadership, Parenting, Adolescent Development, Addiction and Recovery Issues, and Individual & Family Wellness.

A School Social Worker for over 29 years, I has been intricately involved in the creation and implementation of a myriad of services that are both student and family centered. With each succeeding generation, our children are faced with the increasing and complex challenge of negotiating the myriad of developmental and social hurdles inherent in the transition from childhood to adolescenthood to adulthood.

And as complicated as it might be for our children, it is even more frightening and anxiety provoking to be a parent in today’s confusing culture! Much of my work and thinking has focused on how to support parents in being able to raise their children in a way than both honors parental values, expectations and dreams as well as prepares children to become productive, self-reliant and compassionate adults. My wife and I are the proud parents of two young adult children and know firsthand how difficult it is at times to walk that line that balances unconditional love with accountability….and have your kid still like you!!!!!

One of my other areas of great interest is Wellness. Keeping an eye on, and investing energy into, our own personal sense of physical, emotional, relational and spiritual sense of wellness has become of paramount importance in our frenetic and stress filled culture! One of the true joys of my Coaching work has come from learning from my clients all of the creative and meaningful ways they have learned to take care of their hearts and souls.

In addition to being blessed with a number of significant relationships with family and friends, my own sense of wellness is pursued through participation in a number of athletic outlets from hockey to hiking to golf, where I would describe my participation as one of “great passion and limited skill.”
