Kevin Molina's Football Recruiting Profile
Emily Baldwin Personal Statement
Hello Coaches.
My name is Kevin Molina, and I play Linebacker for the Mariner Tritons. My collegiate goal is to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and to major in Biology. What makes me a great candidate for your team? I am a strong player, I study football footage regularly, and I'm very coachable!
A lot of things have influenced how my life is going right now, and it's great! I have loving parents that care and look out for me, they always give me advice, but they will also let me learn the hard way. In particular, my mom has always taught me to never give up no matter what. Even if it's completely obvious it won't happen, I always kept my focus and kept fighting.
I became interested in football when I was in Tampa, at 12-13 years of age I played outside on a street with some friends that were pretty good at football. At first, I never got picked first I was always last, but as time progressed, I had an urge to get better every time I walked out on that street. And soon enough, I was rocking out! Because of football, I've met some marvelous people that I can call my family. I have learned that I'm a very competitive, but a friendly guy. I love the grind that football requires, in fact, the football grind led me to do wrestling too! I had to overcome obstacles like not knowing a thing about " Real Football ". When I first came out to practice I was a mess! I had no clue what was going on, never knew any formations, I didn't even know how to tackle! But, I caught on very quickly and ended up being a starting linebacker on the JV team, and I took off with the opportunity!
Although I started off really rough, I got better and ended up being an extremely valuable player at the JV level. I can't wait to play Varsity Football with tougher competition, which will also help to expand my skills, and become an even better player than any football coach and the team can be proud of.
Sincerely,
Kevin Molina
