Last Chance U's Isaiah Wright Has Murder Charge Dropped, Released After Plea | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Ava Arnold Isaiah Wright, a running back showcased on the Netflix documentary series "Last Chance U," will be released from prison after reaching a plea agreement to have a murder charge related in connection to the death of an 18-year-old man dropped.
TMZ Sports reported Wright pleaded guilty to one count of facilitation of aggravated robbery during a Wednesday court appearance. He was sentenced to time served, after remaining in prison since his arrest last year, and five years of probation.
In September, Don Jacobs of the Knoxville News Sentinel noted Wright and his brother, Camion Patrick, were arrested and charged in connection with the death of Caleb Radford. Keshawn Lonnell Hopewell and Itiq Green were also charged with criminal homicide in the case.
The Alcoa Police Department (Tenn.) said Radford was "stabbed multiple times." They didn't not mention a potential motive, per Jacobs.
Wright's attorney, Kevin Angel, confirmed his client's plea, which means he "furnished assistance without the intent to commit robbery," to TMZ Sports.
It's unclear whether Wright, 20, will attempt to restart his football career.
