Born on April 29, 1955, and passing away on October 24, 2022, Leslie Allen Jordan was an American actor, writer, and singer. 

Leslie on Will & Grace (2001–2006, 2017–2020) are two of his most recognizable roles; the latter earned Leslie Jorden a Primetime Emmy Award for superb Guest Actor in a Comedies Series in 2006. 

One of his most well-known theatre roles was as Earl “Brother Boy” Ingram in the drama Sordid Lives. 

Leslie Jordan also played a role in the successful cult film of the same name. During the pandemic of 2020, he rose to stardom on Instagram, where he eventually had 5.8 million followers.

He completed high school in Brainerd. Jordan said that his mother, Peggy Ann (Gryphon), was kind and welcoming of him despite not knowing him very well.

Jordan acknowledged the challenges he faced as a child while being raised in the Southern Baptist faith in an interview in 2014. Fourteen times, to be exact!

Since Leslie Jordan is just 4.11 feet tall, he is believed to be a dwarf, a condition that often only manifests in the animal kingdom.

According to studies, the average adult height of a dwarf is 122 centimeters (4 feet, 0 inches), while some may grow taller.

Regardless of gender, it is sometimes defined as a human being shorter than 147 centimeters (4 feet 10 inches).

On October 24, 2022, almost at about 9:30 a.m. PDT, while driving to the Call Me Kat set in Hollywood, Jordan’s car crashed direct into the side of a building at the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street.

The accident was blamed on a medical crisis he may have experienced. On the spot, Jordan was pronounced dead. He lived to be 67 years old.

An autopsy report from January 2023 said that “sudden cardiac dysfunction” was the cause of death for Jordan. 

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office determined that arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease was Jordan’s immediate cause of death. 

Jordan did not have any traces of drugs or alcohol in his body. Leslie Jordan had been sober for over twenty years before he expired.

In 1986, Jordan made his acting debut on The Fall Guy as Malone. His small stature and distinctive Southern accent helped him gain instant fame. In the film The Help, he played Mr. Blackly, the editor of the local newspaper. 

By 2007, he appeared on the CW’s Ugly Betty and the network’s short-lived drama Hidden Palms as Jesse Joe and celebrity trashier Quincy Combs.

Laugh Out was the first interactive gay-themed comedy show, and Jordan was the show’s star in the premiere episode.

Jordan joined the cast of the fourteenth season of the British television game show Celebrity Big Brother on August 18, 2014. 

On August 29, 2014, he was the Big Brother house’s second evictee. Jordan appeared as Buck A. Roo in two British comedy series, Benidorm episodes, in January 2015.

Three years later, on November 1, 2017, Jordan appeared in the new Sky Original Production, Living the Dream, a British television drama co-produced by Sky and Big Talk Productions.

Jordan featured in the 2018-2019 season of the Fox comedy The Cool Kids alongside Martin Mull, Vicki Lawrence, and David Alan Grier.

Jordan joined the cast of Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, and Cheyenne Jackson on the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat as a series regular in the role of Phil on April 2, 2020.

First airing in January of 2021. Jordan appeared on season six, episode five, as a guest panelist and performed “This Little Light of Mine” as “Soft Serve” in the same year. 

He came again for seasons seven and eight as a panel guest. One of his last works was a Lego Masters holiday episode that aired after his death.

Leslie Jordan wasn’t the wealthiest star, the actor’s total assets amounted to almost $1.5 million. 

He reportedly remarked that his general air of ease and contentment led others to assume he was financially secure. However, he had not yet realized his full potential.
