The Southwest Florida International Airport primarily serves the Southwest Florida region, which consists of places like Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Punta Gorda metropolitan areas, and  Naples-Marco Island. SFIA is a busy airport with over 10,000 arriving flights and 8,000 departing flights annually. 

Similarly, the airport served over 10 million passengers in 2022. Covering an area of  13,555 acres (21.2 sq. miles), the institution has a single runway, which is nearly 12 thousand feet long and 150 feet wide. United Airlines, Air Canada, and British Airways are some of the major airlines operating inside the airport, whereas Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, and Edinburgh are some of the major destinations.
