Personal Statement

Dear Coaches, 

From the first moment I put skates on and touched the ice I knew hockey was different then all the other sports I had played before. It is my dream to be a contributing player on a successful college hockey team.  I am not a stranger to challenging myself, I started playing hockey later than most so I had to push myself longer and harder. After working with a skating instructor specializing on power skating I pride myself on being a fast, aggressive player. I believe my determination, passion and coachability are my greatest strengths.

I strive to set an example, both academically and athletically. At school I take rigorous courses and maintain a high GPA. In addition, I always show up to practice with a positive attitude and mindset. Both of my parents were collegiate athletes and they have taught me how to work hard in order to achieve my goals.

I plan to pursue a degree in Neuroscience but I also know that hockey needs to be part of my college experience. Hockey enhances my time management, organization, and mental health. Being part of a team grounds me, and I would feel incomplete without it. I would be honored to play hockey for a coach and a team that holds the same passions and values as I do.
