"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" matriarch Mama June Shannon is back and looking more different than when she first rose to fame along with her infamous daughter Alana Thomson a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, one of her other daughters Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon revealed that had gastric sleeve surgery back in May of 2015 and she started losing weight. She said her mother did it because she "hit a plateau" and could no longer lose weight by natural means.

"Her stomach started looking gross. It was hanging from where she lost so much weight, and her arms and her chin, so she got [the skin on] her stomach removed," she said.

Now, she has gone from 460 pounds to a size 4.

Gastric sleeve surgery, according to WebMD, makes the stomach smaller and aids in weight loss. And because the surgery makes your stomach smaller, which means you get full much more quickly, Mama June would have had to make changes in her in her diet, including portion size and different types of food. 

Although this procedure may appear shallow and all about looks, it's actually recommended for people like Mama June who have a high body mass index that is borderline life-threatening or disabling (heart disease, diabetes, or cancer, just to name a few), especially when they could no longer lose weight by natural means. 

"There is a skinnier person inside of me," said Mama June in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Mama June also had some work done on her breasts. Pumpkin revealed that her mother went "from a 44 long to a 36 up" and she also had skin removal surgery. 

Her adventures in weight loss and "the biggest transformation" of her life are documented on the series "Mama June: From Not to Hot", which will be shown on WeTV starting this Friday.
