Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer lets you tackle various missions with other players. You can call for help when you’re stuck, or you can provide assistance to those in need. There are several requirements for playing coop in ME: Andromeda, however. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to play co-op in Mass Effect Andromeda, how multiplayer works.

If you’re playing on console, you’ll need the premium subscription to access multiplayer. That means Playstation Plus or Xbox Live Gold, depending on the platform.

How to play Co-op in Mass Effect Andromeda

There are two way to go about this. The first is accessing it from the menu:

1. Open the menu, then select Game (if you’re on PC, you can press H to do this).
2. Look for the option to Jump to Multiplayer, about halfway through the list.

On the other hand, you can access it through a certain terminal aboard the Tempest, your flying fortress. It’s the one that lets you send AI controlled teams on missions. When you interact with it, it will allow you to choose between joining a Strike Team Mission, or starting your own.

The multiplayer will put you in the shoes of a nameless soldier on the battlefield, fending off waves of enemies – you won’t be controlling the Ryders, sadly. You will be able to choose from a vast pool of races and classes, as well as customize your loadout to suit your style of play. The rewards you get in this horde mode will affect the singleplayer portion of the game as well. We don’t know how important they are for getting the best possible outcome in the end, but they’re definitely beneficial.
