Matthew Kimak's Men's Ice Hockey Recruiting Profile
Ava Arnold Personal Statement
Goals and Aspirations:
My goals in life are to be successful in a career that I enjoy. As of now, I am contemplating a career in Criminal Justice or Education. Either way, I want to give back to my community and I would love to become a coach for a local travel team or high school.
What makes you a good candidate for a team and different from other recruits:
"The player skating hardest from the drop of the puck to the final buzzer of the game will be Kimak"
This is a quote from an article in the local newspaper when I was Athlete of the Week. I lead by example. Whether it's in the classroom or on the ice, my goal is to work my hardest to produce the greatest outcome. When other players are worried about building their individual stats, I am concerned about team wins. I am not afraid to jump in front of the puck to block shots and my coaches have confidence in my ability to lead the team. I have been a Captain for my travel and high school teams for four years and it is mostly because of my work ethic and my desire to learn and improve my game. In addition, in school, I am not above asking for extra help when needed and constantly receive the comment "Pleasure to have in class" because of my positive attitude and willingness to listen and learn.
I am a year round athlete. I play soccer and tennis to stay in shape. I simply enjoy being active and competing as part of a team. I believe my attitude and work ethic will make me an asset to any program.
