Cristiano Ronaldo had to deal with his emotions since the Portuguese was a victim of mockery as fans chanted Messi’s name following a defeat for Al Nassr against Al Ittihad in the semifinal of the Arab super cup.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner drew blank in his consecutive matches for Al Nassr after the former Manchester United man scored a brace against Paris Saint Germain in an exhibition match.

Arab Super Cup is one of the prestigious tournaments in the country as the top four of each season fight with each other to be the best among the best and it has a prolonged history.

Al Nassr was destined to play against the high-flying Al Ittihad side who was unbeaten in two straight games. But the Arab Pro league table toppers were considered the favorites, especially after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, as the game kicked off, Al Nassr seemed to be clueless about what they should do on the pitch while Ittihad took the opportunity well and scored twice even before the first half, thanks to Romarinho and Hamdallah’s goal, and the underdogs took the control into their hands.

Cristiano Ronaldo left no spark as he was distraught and found vulnerable each time he received the ball while hardly could impact the game. Brazilian midfielder Anderson Talisca brought one back for Al Nassr but not to any good effect for them as Shanqeeti killed the game off with a third and decisive goal.

The former Real Madrid legend was found frustrated after the match and his annoyance went even further when crowds started to shout “Messi, Messi” towards him as he was leaving the field after getting knocked out of the tournament.

Ronaldo completed his move to the Middle East following a lucrative deal put on his table which will bag him $200 million per season, but the Saudi Arabian club must be looking for far greater service from their talisman.
