Michael Barkin's Men's Ice Hockey Recruiting Profile
Carter Sullivan Personal Statement
Describing all of my characteristics as a hockey player to a coach in one small text area can be difficult. However, I can put my best foot forward and make an attempt to describe my abilities and myself. Physically, I am 5"9' and weigh about 190 pounds. Most of the time, I find myself skating past defensemen with ease, using my low-balanced stride to keep myself at a low center of gravity. Keeping this low center of gravity protects me from body checks that may cause me to fall while off-balance. Skating through the neutral zone with agility and balance is a positive attribute I have to offer. I have gone through several levels of leadership, including a captain position on my high school team and a coaching position for young players. I also consistently help my teammates as we win and lose. I have won awards such as the Dual Valley Conference All Star Award and have ten years of experience playing hockey. I am looking for a small or medium sized school with the levels of Division 3 to Division 1. My goals are to play as a freshman, to improve my skills, to become a better player, and to work as part of an effective team. I would also like exposure to a higher level of play while staying somewhat close to home.
