Mississippi Braves moving to Columbus, Georgia
Jessica Wood PEARL, Miss — One of the Atlanta Braves' minor league affiliates will move more than 300 miles east and call Georgia home next year.
The Mississippi Braves announced in a letter to fans it will play its final season in Pearl, Mississippi this year. The Double-A affiliate of the Braves will then relocate from the Magnolia state to Columbus, Georgia for the 2025 season.
The team plans to commemorate the 20th season at Trustmark Park -- which is located right outside of Jackson, Mississippi -- throughout the season.
"We want to thank Pearl, the surrounding Jackson community and the state of Mississippi for the incredible support for the franchise over the past 19 years," the letter said. "We have loved creating memories with you at Trustmark Park and we look forward to bringing you an amazing 2024 season."
